This month I have selected Domaine Jones blanc as it is tasting perfectly at the moment. It is a great accompaniment to most of dishes but has enough body to stand up to herb roasted chicken and also spicy food and even curries.
And that is not forgetting that it is a perfect accompaniment to mature cheeses such as cheddar too.
Domaine Jones blanc is made exclusively from Grenache Gris from my small vineyard in Maury. This is quite an unusual grape that you don't tend to see that much by itself but it is normally blended with other local varieties. As the grapes ripen they are a lovely pink colour and not at all grey as their name suggests.
We only make 4000 bottles of this wine which makes it pretty exclusive! We age some of the wine in small french oak barrels (about 30%) and then blend this back into the wine which has been in vat to get our distinct style!
Vintages
The 2013 is tasting superbly at the moment and will be perfect for drinking up until early 2017.
The 2014 is a little gem and is also delicious at the moment and can be drunk up until 2018.

"There are notes of nutmeg spice, citrus and pear on this beautifully framed dry white."
