Visit to Domaine Jones

We always love to have visitors at Domaine Jones, especially as we are a little off the beaten track!

As we are not 'just down the road', it is always best to check that we are going to be in before you start out!

Either give me a ring on 0033 686679468 or send me a quick email katie@domainejones.com.

The address to head for is:

La Gare du Vin
1 rue de la Glacière
11350 Tuchan

which is just off Rue de la Gare opposite the bank.

Or search for Domaine Jones on Google maps

We will be pleased to show you around our converted train shed winery and taste a selection of Domaine Jones wines.

Our first visitors of the year were lucky enough to catch Jean-Marc out in the vineyard planting some Grenache Gris vines.

The Welsh Leg

All of my grandparents, all 4 of them were born in Wales and having spent every single holiday as a baby, child and teenager in Pembrokeshire it was lovely to finally go back and talk about Domaine Jones.  And what a fantastic welcome I had in Cardiff.  Many thanks to the Mystere Wine Club where I was received with open arms, the wines went down a treat (the red beating off stiff competition to come top in their tasting) and just a really lovely bunch of people who enjoy enjoying wine!  Merci Gilbert (big fromage of the club) and all members.  And I would love to come back!

The Mystere Wine Club
And then a fantastic meal at bullys set around Domaine Jones's wines.  Delicieux!

Thanks to Russell and Gareth and to all who attended or intended to attend!

Domaine Jones enjoyed Cardiff and I wish it was more than just my leg that was welsh!

UK wine tour - stage 1

As the storm clouds gather here in Paziols, it gives me chance to have a rest after the first leg of my Jones UK tour.  It was only a short leg as due to events in Paziols (and more on that later) I decided to come back earlier rather than later.  But it did really bring it home to me how interested people are in wine firstly but also in my struggle to set up a wine cellar and make my own wine down here in a very male dominated and Cooperative led mentality.  So a very big merci to everyone who came to listen and especially my wonderful parents for making it happen.

My home town of Ashby de la Zouch was the first to hear the story.

And then it was of to The Burton Wine Society which is a very dynamic club but I was a little bemused that everyone arrived with bottles of wine. Not only that but they opened them up and started serving generous measures to accompany plates of crisps and cheese crackers. Slightly worried that I may be in the wrong place, Pam, the Chairperson, explained that most of the members made their own wine.  Sort of relieved, I launched into my presentation and never have a crowd been so receptive and enthusiastic.  I really enjoyed the evening and hope to see the Club down here at Domaine Jones very soon.

Jones Wine Tour

Now I'm getting really excited!  Next week the Jones UK wine tour kicks off in my home town of Ashby de la Zouch!  I will be telling my story illustrated with pictures of the area and a glass (or two) of my award winning wines.  I can't wait - the two evenings are a sell out so MERCI BEAUCOUP and see you next week.

Is Ashby ready for Jones?
The second stage is at the Wine Club in Burton on Trent on Friday evening and more dates will follow!
